Career
Alyssa has an academic background in Molecular Life Sciences (BSc & MSc, Wageningen University & Research). For her dissertation she researched safer and improved protective coatings at Trespa International B.V. She subsequently started her doctoral research at the chair group of Organic Chemistry at Wageningen University & Research on the topic of organic synthesis and the functionalization of flat and nanoparticle surfaces.

As of March 2023, Alyssa works as a trainee patent attorney at EDP Patent Attorneys.

Personality
Alyssa has a multidisciplinary background and a wide range of interests. Her curious and analytical character allows her to quickly find, process, and translate relevant information into a clear story. Using her natural helpfulness, Alyssa strives towards an open communication with clients in order to reach the best possible result.

Publications and memberships
Alyssa is co-author of four scientific publications, and the winner of the best-poster award from the NWO CHAINS conference (2019 edition).  She also presented her research results at (inter)national conferences on multiple occasions.
